Most dedicated small-animal PET scanners achieve only 0.7–1.1 mm spatial resolution — insufficient for detailed mouse organ imaging. A mouse brain measures ~1.5 cm; its abdominal aorta just ~1 mm. Meaningful comparison with human-scale 5 mm PET requires at least 0.5 mm resolution.
